After getting a few opinions from other dentists, it was unanimous that I needed four of my front, upper teeth pulled. As you can imagine, the thought of this was terrifying. Now I needed to find an oral surgeon to do it! Through my insurance I found Dentists of Woodbury. Right from the start I was impressed, from the kind staff at the check-in to the x-ray tech. Matt is wonderful. He took a 3D image of my mouth to have the partial made. By the way, the partial at my other dentist was going to cost $7,000 but for some reason here it was going to cost $2000. Wow. So I left feeing pretty happy. About a month later the day came. Go in to have my teeth pulled and leave with the partial for the rest of my life. I meet Dr. Schwartzbauer or Dr. S. The most amazing, kindest person I’d ever met in a long time but little did I know just how much. She began with two of the most gentle shots of Novocaine I ever had. And these were in the front of my mouth! Then ya know what she says to me? “I think I can save those teeth!” WHAT!? You have got to be kidding me right now! She said she needed some digital x-rays to be sure but yes, she thinks she can. Now I could make this review much, much longer than it already is but let me just say this… I am a 65 year old man living on disability. I am NOT someone who can afford a lot of dental work. Insurance covers $1800 of dental work every year. Saving my four teeth wasn’t going to be cheap. So Dr. S. then proceeded to tell me about something they do once every year as a way to give back to the community. She said they come in on a Saturday and work for free! She told me she wanted me to be one of her patients that day! I sat there in complete shock! Not only was the work that day free of charge, but they were doing the whole job on those four teeth for free. So right now as I write this, all that’s left to be done is to go back in and have the permanent crowns placed and that’s it! By then it will have been 8 hours of dental work at no charge! Who else does that? The day the staff came in to work Pro Bono they all took photos in the lobby area and even asked me to be in them and I was able to take a photo with Dr. S. (See below) Please note; My mouth was already numb in the photo so I dared not smile. So yes, I love all of the staff there for what they’ve done for me, especially Dr. S.
